Welcome to Carthvean Alpacas.

We have been breeding alpacas since 2000 and have a well-established name and reputation. We are located in the beautiful South West of Cornwall, near Helston.

Carthvean Alpacas is run by Julie Taylor-Browne.

"I began keeping camelids in 2000 and quickly realised that I needed to know more about them.  Over the next few years I qualified as a practitioner in both Camelidynamics and Tellington TTouch.

I started giving courses in 2005 and I've taught throughout Europe and Scandinavia, becoming one of the very few Camelidynamics Instructors.  I have a Diploma in Animal Behaviour with Edinburgh Veterinary School and I've studied clicker training with Alexandra Kurland and Advanced TTouch with Linda Tellington-Jones.

My desire to improve the human side of the camelid/human relationship also led me to qualify in Tag Teach (clicker training for humans!) and the Feldenkrais Method.

I have also worked as a judge for the British Alpaca Society and British Llama society and I've judged in the UK, Finland, France and Italy.

I  have written extensively on camelid training and handling, and I founded CamelidSense in 2012 in order to deliver my own brand of camelid training whilst holding true to the ideals and spirit of Camelidynamics and Tellington Ttouch. You can see some of my articles here."

We are the UK stockists for Camelidynamics equipment and you can see the full range on our online store as well as our lovely alpaca products, yarn and gifts.

We sometimes have alpacas for sale from our prize winning herd, in a range of ages, colours and prices and will talk through with you the practicalities of purchasing and keeping alpacas.

We offer a full aftercare service for owners and help you to learn all aspects of looking after these beautiful animals including shearing, toenail clipping, vaccinating, training and stud services. We also have agistment (livery) at very reasonable terms, for owners without land or who need their animals looked after while they are away.

If you are thinking of keeping alpacas or llamas you are welcome to visit the farm and see our herd by appointment; we can show you our selection of alpacas for sale, give you advice about keeping alpacas and tell you all about fleeces and what to do with them!

Anyone is welcome to come for a trek or a farm visit to see our lovely alpacas, llamas, Golden Guernsey goats, Kune Kune pigs and other farm animals.

In our shop we stock Fairtrade South American items, Alpaca blankets from our own herd, a range of beautifully soft Alpaca and Llama yarns (including some from our own fibre) and an extensive range of wonderful alpaca socks. You can also buy the full range of Camelidynamics alpaca and llama training equipment.
