Sales

We have bred our females to the prize winning stud males of Langaton Alpacas and have achieved excellent fleece and conformation in our stock. At the 2007 Cornish Alpaca Show,  Carthvean Alpacas took four first prize rosettes in their classes and also won:

• Champion Brown
• Champion White
• Reserve Supreme Champion.

We are proud of our animals and have a much loved herd. Our animals are friendly, used to being handled and led on a halter, we also offer full after care support for the new alpaca owner. Advice and hands on help on toenail trimming, shearing, herd management, breeding, vaccination and health is always on hand.

You are welcome to ring to discuss what we have available at any time. Prices for alpacas are £500 to £1000 for males and £3,500 to £6,500 for females.  Females are usually sold pregnant with a live birth guarantee; and are sometimes available with a cria at foot. Males can be sold singly to join an existing group or sold in a group of three.  Prices relate to age, colour, and fleece quality. All animals sold are halter trained.

The higher end prices are for suri alpacas. These have the distinctive ‘ringlet’ fleece and are much rarer.  Suri fleece has a beautiful pearl-like lustre and handles more like silk than wool.

We also sell Miniature Southdown (Babydoll) Sheep. These are ideal camelid companions, lawn mowers and children's pets. They have fabulous fine (18-20 microns) and crimpy wool making their fleeces ideal to spin or process with alpaca fibre.
